StanCon 2026
International Conference on Bayesian Inference and Probabilistic Programming
17-21 August, 2026
Uppsala, Sweden
Speakers
Confirmed keynote speakers of StanCon 2026
Anna Dreber, Stockholm School of Economics
Title: (Predicting) replications and generalizability of (mainly experimental) social science results
About: Anna Dreber is a professor of economics at the Stockholm School of Economics, known for her influential work on behavioral economics and reproducibility in science. Her research explores how individuals make decisions under uncertainty, often combining experimental methods with insights from psychology and genetics. She has played a central role in large-scale replication projects that assess the reliability of findings across scientific fields.
Dreber is widely recognized for advancing open, transparent, and evidence-based research practices. Her work continues to shape how economists and other scientists think about prediction, uncertainty, incentives, and scientific credibility.
Fredrik Ronquist, Swedish Museum of Natural History
Title: Universal probabilistic programming for phylogenetics: challenges and opportunities
About: Fredrik Ronquist is a professor at the Swedish Museum of Natural History, Department of Bioinformatics and Genetics, and a leading figure in computational phylogenetics. He is best known as the co-creator of MrBayes, one of the most widely used Bayesian phylogenetic inference tools in evolutionary biology. His research spans statistical modelling, biodiversity informatics, and the development of robust methods for reconstructing evolutionary history.
Ronquist has also contributed extensively to building large-scale biological data infrastructures and advancing reproducible computational workflows. His work bridges biological insight with cutting-edge statistical methodology.
